What does SmartHomeQR do?

SmartHomeQR helps you capture and store QR codes from smart home device packaging. When you need to re-pair a device (like after a router change or factory reset), you'll have all your setup codes saved in one place.

Does the app connect to my smart home devices?

No. SmartHomeQR is a reference and storage app only. It does not pair with, connect to, or control any smart home hardware. It simply photographs and stores setup codes for your future reference.

Is my data private?

Yes. All your data is stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud account. We have no servers and cannot access your information. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I sync between devices?

SmartHomeQR uses iCloud to sync your data automatically. Make sure iCloud is enabled on all your devices and signed in with the same Apple ID.

The app didn't detect my QR code correctly. What can I do?

For best results:

• Ensure good lighting on the label
• Hold the camera steady and straight-on (avoid angles)
• Make sure the QR code and text are in focus
• Try the "Capture Anyway" button if auto-detection doesn't work

Can I export my data?

Yes. Go to the More tab and tap "Export" to save your device information.
