Privacy Policy

The short version: RunWalk is designed with your privacy in mind. We don't collect personal data, we don't track you, and we don't sell anything to anyone. Your workout data stays on your device and in your iCloud account.
Data We Collect
RunWalk collects and stores the following data locally on your device:
- Workout history (duration, distance, route)
- GPS location data during active workouts
- Your interval timer preferences
- App settings
This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework and may be synced to your personal iCloud account if you have iCloud enabled. We never have access to this data.
HealthKit Integration
With your permission, RunWalk can write workout data to Apple Health. This includes:
- Workout duration and type
- Calories burned
- Distance traveled
- Route data (GPS coordinates)
We only write data to HealthKit; we do not read any of your existing health data. All HealthKit data remains on your device and in your iCloud account under Apple's strict privacy protections.
Location Data
RunWalk requests location access to track your running route. This data is:
- Only collected during active workouts when you explicitly start a session
- Stored locally on your device
- Never transmitted to any external servers
- Optionally shared to Strava if you choose to connect your account (coming soon)
Third-Party Services
Strava Integration (Coming Soon): When this feature launches, you will be able to optionally connect your Strava account to share workouts. This is entirely opt-in. When you share a workout to Strava:
- Your workout data (route, duration, distance) will be sent to Strava
- Strava's privacy policy will apply to that data
- You can disconnect at any time from within the app
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Data Storage & Security
All your data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure frameworks. If you use iCloud, your data may be synced across your devices through your personal iCloud account. We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.
Children's Privacy
RunWalk does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or collect any identifying information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
