Privacy Policy

The short version: RunWalk records your workouts and routes on your own devices, and they go no further than your personal iCloud account. The developer never receives, collects, or sells any of it. No account, no ads, no analytics.
Data the App Stores
RunWalk stores the following data on your device:
- Workout history (duration, distance, route)
- GPS location data during active workouts
- Your interval timer preferences
- App settings
Workout history is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework and may sync through your personal iCloud account if you have iCloud enabled. We never have access to any of this data.
HealthKit Integration
With your permission, RunWalk can write workout data to Apple Health. This includes:
- Workout duration and type
- Calories burned
- Distance traveled
On Apple Watch, with your permission, RunWalk also reads from Apple Health. It reads your heart rate during a workout, to show which heart-rate zone you are in, and your date of birth, to estimate your maximum heart rate. Your heart rate and current zone appear on the watch while you run. RunWalk stores neither your heart rate nor your date of birth, and sends neither anywhere.
All HealthKit data remains on your device and in your iCloud account under Apple's strict privacy protections.
Location Data
RunWalk requests location access to track your running route. This data is:
- Recorded only during active workouts, when you explicitly start a session
- Stored on your device, and synced between your own devices through your personal iCloud account if you use iCloud
- Never sent to the developer, to an advertising network, or to an analytics service
Third-Party Services
There are no RunWalk servers. The app writes to Apple HealthKit, and if you use iCloud it syncs between your own devices through your personal iCloud private database. Apple's privacy terms cover both.
None of your workout or location data goes to the developer, to an advertising network, or to an analytics service.
The iPhone app uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting. If the app crashes, or if its iCloud store fails to open, a technical report reaches the developer through Firebase. The report contains a trace of what the app was executing when it failed, your device model, and your iOS version. It also carries an identifier for your installation of the app, which groups together the reports that came from the same install. It never contains your workouts, your routes, or your health data. Google's privacy terms cover Crashlytics.
Data Storage & Security
Your workout data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure frameworks. If you use iCloud, your data may be synced across your devices through your personal iCloud account. We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.
Children's Privacy
RunWalk is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. It has no accounts and no ads. Workout, location, and health data never leave the user's own devices and personal iCloud account, no matter who is running the app.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
